NE "Fans"

After attending the Astros vs. Mets game at Shea last night in an Astros cap, and watching the Yankees vs. Red Sox tonight I can say on thing, fans up here are terrible. At the Mets it seems yelling obscenities at you for wearing the other teams hat is an o.k. A guy in right field just took a swipe at Gary Sheffield in Fenway as he fielded a ball. The most intelligent thing that Yankee fans, Met fans, and Red Sox fans can say is that whoever they are playing "sucks." So, don't buy the warm fuzzy Red Sox feel, or the Yankees win with class, the people in the stadium are terrible drunk immature people. It has nothing to do with baseball tradition in those towns, it has everything to do with alcohol consumption and trashy people.

Sounds like a rough night all around. I saw the score. Tough break for the 'stros.

Hopefully your brain isn't a post-test mush. Here's to your freedom from studying! Enjoy sleeping in tomorrow.

I am starting to see what you mean. 3 days in New England and I have already gotten yelled at for calling it the O's game instead of the Sox game and heard a radio station making fun of Southerners. Im pretty sure its gonna be a long summer...

Do you think you're a bit biased? Don't you think Southerners also have their own quirks? Believe me, when I lived up North and came down South for a summer, I got all kinds of shit. Southerners can be just as rude as Northerners.

No, I don't think I'm biased. I've been to lots of baseball games, football games, basketball games in Houston, Dallas, San Fransico, Chicago, Oklahoma, Florida, etc, and there are no fans like NE fans as far as being rude. Yes there are rude fans at an Astros game, but nothing like a Yankees game where they are the rule, not the exception. Philly fans pride themselves in being rude. I have NE friends that agree with me, and don't take their kids to games for that reason.
